Who are the new owners?

 

I ordered mine two months before thanksgiving, and it took a month and a half to get it. I got the first one in my area.

Hey Spode, you live in Wichita? I grew up there. I've been in Tejas since '88 but my folks are still there. That big honkin' dealer on West street is out?

 

Yup, Mid-America Powersports as well as the shop on Southwestern Boulevard. Should have grabbed it when I first checked it out. Went in today to the S/B shop to pick it up and nada. It may be acouple of weeks before each get restocked.

I was wondering who the lucky-buggers were who got in early. I saw one crossing Main and First last week and said I gotta get me one! [sm=wakeup.gif]

 

It's simply amazing at when you have the right product, folks will be beating a path to you.

Here in Florida many of the dealers still do not have the KLX250S in stock. Mine actually never saw the sales floor of the dealership. My friend is the sales manager of the dealership and I ordered via the phone with him. He saw a truck pull in one day and took a walk outside to see what was on the truck - a KLX250S was. He told the shop foreman the KLX250S was the first one to get assembled. Then he cautioned him that it was going to a knowledgable owner, make sure it's right. It was.

I was ready to go up to Georgia to pick one up if necessary.

I like mine - no actually I love mine!

 

I have the first one in my area as well. I live in Fayetteville, North Carolina. When ever I ride it I get all kind of head turns and when I do finally stop for GAS or a snack I sit by the window so I can watch the people walk over to my little bombshell and just drool all over themselves. Yeah!! its a great felling to have something that alot of people want. However, once alot of people start getting them that feeling will be gone and I will be just left with the supurb riding experince that I get every time that I get on it and take off down the road.

Hey Spode, I live in Wichita. If you want a good deal go to Dan's Cycle in Hesston. He is supposed to be getting some more here soon. I bought his first one and Dan got another one for my brother. He did some kind of dealer trade for that one. Phone number 620-327-5001. Ask for Dan. I bought one bike from the evil empire (MAP), I will never do that again. I paid way to much for it. I could have bought the same bike from Dan for about $1300 cheaper.

That was probably me that you saw crossing 1st and Main. I ride by there almost everyday.

 

Hey Marty you're story could be mine. I ordered my bike and when the truck showed up at the dealership (an hour away) the salesman called me to let me know I could pick it up in a few hours. I was there in an hour and 15 minutes, (65 miles away) Anyway when I got there he says wow! that was fast, and I said where is it where is it like a kid waiting for his first ride at Disneyland. He took me to the shop and there it was still sitting on the box floor it came it. All the mechanic had left to do was to put the front tire on and the handle bars, fluids, and she was ready. Do we call bikes she? Anyway I was pumped, I even bought a bunch of stuff in the parts house while I was waiting. One of the best things I picked up was the hydraulic bike stand, that lifts the bike up almost 4 ft in the air. Then I said I wanted a free helmet, and they threw one in, and then I thought I was on a roll, and said well I have to get a couple of the dealership hats, the finance lady said go pick out a couple. I could not be stopped. LOL just kidding. I wonder what they will give me if I buy two more bikes for the family? Last weekend I went to a place called Pro Caliber Motor Sports in Longview Washington, and although they had like 400 machines on the floor, they only had one KLX 250S. The salesman said that every dealership only gets one or two bikes because of the demand. I really think this bike is going to turn out to be one of the best dual sport sellers of all time. Do I sound excited still after 400 miles? Yes I am. I have to say it was pretty cool watching the guy put my bike together knowing that I was the first one to ride it (her). I have never had a new car truck or motorcycle, until now. I've always bought vehicles when they were a year old to save money, but not in this case. So this is what all the hype is all about........SWEET!!
