Why is a stock kx250 so much more powerful than our klx250s or even 350s?

You need a new powerband in your KLX, your old one must be worn out.

The KLX does not come from the factory with a powerband. You need to install an aftermarket one.

In Stock form, the KLX has a power suggestion...I'm another one to agree it's best to replace it with a power band.

Every stock bike is a compromise, it has to fit some mythical rider or purpose.
That's why the after market is big. My 351 is out run by my 520 which can't keep my 250 SX in sight on a track. They all have there place. The KLX is the one I ride the most.

I know every one else's 250/351 will smoke my SX, but mine won't.

That 250 2c that is putting out 30Hp, the 30HP will come and go in a hurry, better be ready for the big hit & have it pointed in the right direction & attitude. The KLX you can count on a steady pull anywhere from 3000-8000+. If your motocrossing, 2c is faster, if your trail riding, the 4c is the ticket. What do you do is the question, form follows function.
