To buy a Katoom like that or a beasty Husky for that matter and never go off road is plain silly and a waste of a fine machinery IMO. [&:] Dontcha think?
Yep. But I would seriously suspect problems with this bike. Note the seller won't let you ride before you buy. That's insane for a used bike, 800 miles or not.RED FLAG

I have to agree with that. If I had the extra money to dump into a maintenance virtual black hole, I would get a Katoom. However, I would have to have two Katooms in order to keep riding while the other is in the shop. Shoot, if I had that kind of money to throw away I'd spring for a fuel injected GasGas.

selling a brand new condition bike like this for that price, even how rare it claims to be- what does that say for KTM resale value? i don't like the 70's look of the chain and brake swapping sides. how old fashioned is that? what's the point? i can have just as much fun on my lil old 250 as i could on this, and know that it won't cost me and arm and a leg to get service done on it. i never quite understood KTM's, I mean it's still just a bike. I'll take a kawi over one anyday.

I always thought these are cooler with their KTM type engine. I almost bought one before my bike, but they ran out of tagged
models. The dealer here got so many through before the state closed the loop hold. These are really fine looking bikes, with
quality parts.

Actually I don't like the chain on that side of the bike, it does look old school. But still a nice bike. For another $1500 to $2000 you can get a new 450 with a warranty. I mean after all it's only money..................................that I will never have

Hi Deej,
And the kick starter is on the left side. What were they thinking. I would kill myself trying to operate that kick starter if I ever needed it. Just like when I tried out a guys Bultaco that shifted on the right. (many moons ago). Back asswards and Greek to me.
I do wish they had included a kick start on our bikes just for a back up though.

I'm about two hours South of OKC. Let me know if I need to go pick this up for one of you guys. Of course, I'll ride it home to make sure it's 'ok'. (Just trying to help )

I can't believe you guys even care what side the chain is on. Does it really matter that much?[&:]
