I usually just close my eyes, scream, then hold my breath & hold on.. After about 30 seconds I open my eyes and usually I'm OK.

 

Gusty high winds are terrible. I had about a 20MPH crosswind and gusts that were in the 60MPH range. I was nearly slapped to the ground once with a high lean angle and the wind just died on me. Man that was scary.

Days like that have me taking the slow side streets.
