Wheel locks
Hey Guys
Just got my new D606 in the beefy size (130) and need to put 2 wheel locks on the rear tire. Does anybody know what size or the width of our back rim? Any trick to installing them?
TIA

I really don't know what size you need you will have to measure the inside of the wheel ,they are kind of a pain to install but if you have tire changer to hlod the wheel it is not bad to do I have done many of them over the years....But I really don't think you will need them the tire really sticks to the wheel and unless you have a lot of power which the KLX with all the mods really won't spin the tire on the wheel.....A lot of guys will screw the tire like in drag racing or hill climbing because the rim locks are a pain and also on a bike that is running fast the rim locks most of the time cause the wheel to be out of balance. I would put the tire on and run the bike like you want to and inspect the tubes valve stem if it is leaning then you will need to do 1 of the 2 options....Hope this helps
Thanks Guys
I only have 800 miles on my bike and have had 4 flats. Three have been ripped valve stems. I have tried loose nut, no nut and still have flats. I keep an eye out on the tire preasure and usually run about 20 psi. on one of the flats, the rim stayed seated on one side and i was able to limp home @ 35 mph on one sidewall. I figure that if i install 2 wheel locks they will balance each other out and w/ the thick sidewall of this 606 i may not need any air at all
I will give it a try installing the locks my self before taking it to the dealer($29.95)
Any help is appreciated
TIA

Deej,
I understand your confusion. I am not hard on my bike and take care of it. It is not as clean as yours each day but who's is?
This has been the only frustration with my bike
TIA

Well clean has nothing to do with it. What pressure are you trying to run? I really don't change my pressure much. I max everything out. It might not grip off road as good as it could, but I can guarantee I'm not gonna get stuck somewhere.
