Well as slow as I ride (I suck) my fan would cut on pretty often. Now, last weekend I was going a bit faster (I still suck tho) and it only cut on once or twice the entire 35 mile loop. Today the temperature took a turn for the coler, high today only about 60, lows now in the 40s, low 50s. It'll be interesting to see if the fan comes on this weekend.

Also, don't cooler intake temps = denser air? Meaning, if the bike is jetted a bit rich, it would run better?

Yes colder air is denser and require richer jetting.

I'm surprised how often your fan comes on, you do live in LA though so its alot warmer there. But even recently its been fairly cool, so I don't know.

Oh yeah, I mean, it was 80s beatin' on 90s, and a lotta first gear creeping. Last weekend was a lot cooler and I was moving a good bit faster.

Runs great. I can feel the need for a larger header. The bike definitely wants to blow more gas but the header is the weak link. I'm happy though.
Hey WestOz, my CDI Sh*t the bed & I need a replacement. I have searched for the 'Jap' CDI 21119-1533 with no luck, where did you get yours? Does anyone make an aftermarket CDI for our bikes yet? Does anyone have an OEM CDI for sale?

Stock 250cc Bore.
RSV Slip On Exhaust.
Stock Air Filter.
0-200ft above sea level.

DJ #120 Main
DJ Needle ON 3RD Position
Stock Pilot Jet
Slide Vent Hole Drilled

I'v got a small problem upon sudden acceleration. It helped when I played with the fuel screw. Other than that, its perfect!

SAVAGEKILLA: Check ur air filter and may need to increase your jetting for the aftermarket exhaust

DIVODAVE: Stock CDI's are around $315 at Bike Bandit.

Divo- I come across those "Jap CDI's" sometimes on the auction here rarely, but they usually go for about $200 used. I can probably get you a used OEM one for much less than you can get new. PM me and I will let you know when I find one, whichever you are looking for.

2007 KLX 250S US model
Elevation Sea level
Kustom Kraft 331
FMF Powerbomb header & Q4 exhaust
K&N airfilter
Backfire screen removed
Dynojet KLX 300 kit
Stock carb jetted as follows:
Pilot 35, 3 turns out on the mixture screw. Tried a 40, idles better with the 35
Slide hole drilled with DJ kit provided drill bit, and I added the 09 DJ kit slide spring
DJ needle, clip 3rd groove from the top
Main jet DJ 124
Airbox lid on, snorkel removed.

Idles smooth, pulls hard to redline, no flat spots or stumbles. I have tried running without the airbox lid and richening up the needle and main. My bike seems to lose some low end pull and won't pull cleanly up to redline. Much better with airbox lid on.

Mine came on the bike. We get some different spec down here in OZ.
You'll have to stick with the OE item unless you plan on some wiring mods. Tremor mentioned you can buy a loom extension to fit the Jap' CDI to USA models, but from memory he said it was expensive. Hope you find a cheap replacement. $300 is up there.

Twin Air filter
snorkel removed
Two Bros. M-7 slip on w/ stock header
