What was your first bike(s)...
After the FS1E I stuck with Yamaha and went for and RD125LC "Elsie," before upgrading again to the TZR125. So much fun, and the TZR pulled a genuine 100 Mph after a bit of special sauce and a Gianelli pipe.

I'm with deej on liking the classics. My bikes aside, I would vote deej's Hodaka Wombat as the most true to our heritage of dirt bikes. That little bike along with its 100cc brother was probably one of the biggest contributors to the dirt bike craze in the '70s that lead to where we are now.
My vote for most unique would have to go to WestOz's YamahaFS1E. That's one cool looking bike. I don't think we got any of those stateside.

Totally bummed when I got it, Had to give up a down payment on a Yam DT125 because someone told my dad, putting it on a rear bumper of a dual axle 24 foot travel trailer would pop the trailer off the hitch..... He was not a mechanically inclined father.... but did get me the CT70. Still have it and do at least one upgrade a year on it.
Also check out my picasaweb site. (http://picasaweb.google.com/rbarchi).
It has all the bikes I owned/restored throughout my life...
Fun stuff.

That's a CB360.
The power, and sound of the KLX250 reminds me a lot of my friends CB360T, when we were teens.
I had a 72 CB350 in my 20's. It was good, cheap transportation.
