what would you do
Well to make things even more complicated my boss made me a counter offer yesterday morning of a 10% raise and a month off from July 20 to Aug 20 every year in addtion to the time off I already have now. He even gave me the day off to think about it. I still can't decide.
A slight correction:
Map of all the nearby trails!
As someone brought up: Can/would the sweety find work in AZ? Would she relocate?
OK so the boss is offering a raise and more vacation BUT you're still stuck someplace you'd rather not be. Go West!! GO WEST!

Its easy for me to tell ya to MOVE! If I was in your shoes it might be a lil harder. I'd move west. I would move to arizona if I had NOTHING here. Plus you can always buy a jet ski since you will be near lake havasu. Another expensive hobby haha.
Be careful about how much of this you tell the girl about. They have a way of "getting" pregnant in these situations. I don't know your age though or hers but certainly if you folks are under 40 and she wants to keep you, then don't say you weren't warned.
Funny thing about whoring yoursef out to your current employer. If you stay you will be that guy that is not loyal and bent the boss over a barrel for cash. I never agreed with creating a bidding war between a potential and current employer. If you're ready to leave then leave. If you feel underpaid then get the raise for that reason, if you get paid extra to stay it is ransom and only temporary.
How's your spanish? In your shoes, I would of course move to AZ. WA is 2 of the following 3: dark, wet, and cold for about 95% of the year. Cost of living is very high too if you live near civilization.
