Default What is Swing Arm made of?

I bent the back tab that holds the plastic chain guard on. as I was bending it back in place, the tab snapped off.

so, what type of material is the swingarm made of on an 09 klx250s? i have a small flux welder, and can weld it back on, but I don't want to blow a hole in it, dependent on what the material is.

Its aluminum and your flux machine will not do it.

I didn't know the 09 got an aluminium swing arm.

The 06 is definitely steel.

Yeah, I love the fact that my '06 is steel so that I can attach those neat refrigerator magnets to it.

Did you guys luck out? My 07R has an alloy swing arm.

Check the nice piece of extruded aluminium welded to the right side, the brake caliper guide. Can't weld alloy to steel.
