The highest grade available. Up here, it's sometimes hit and miss, especially with 1.9 gal capacity. So I have had to borrow fuel sometimes from the friendly locals and who Knows? Bike hasen't missed a beat though.

The manual states 87 or higher, they list the two different methods of octane rating and 87 is the number and method used on the pumps around here. I've noticed no difference between the 87 91 or 93, besides its mainly the anti knock index its not any more powerful or cleaner.

In actuality, on an engine that will run 87, the 87 will make more power. Octane is the measure of a fuel's resistance to ignition, do the math.

Also most gas station have only one hose for all three grades. If the guy before you pumped 87, even if you pay for 91, you are getting about 1.5 gallon of 87 that's left in the system from the last time. So considering we only have 1.9 gallons, well you co the math.

If the gas pump hose is 1 1/2" and is about 8 feet from the nozzle to where it switches different fuel types... there is 1.88 gallons in the line.... it is true...

so you guys are gas pump experts and have verified these claims in a lab, am I correct? I doubt what you are saying is true. Nor do I believe the 87 mumbo jumbo. I have used both premium and regular 87 in my bike, it ran noticeably worse with the lower octane. With all the high performance engines in some new high performance cars/trucks these days, some carmakers are requiring premium gas to run their engines. If what you are saying is true, well, YOU think logically. Running crappy lower octane in a new ZO6 for example, or a mini cooper, or a Mark VIII which has an all aluminum 32 valver requiring premium would take a toll on the engine and make problems come up quicker and thus costing the auto companies a lot of dough. I'm no expert on gas or gas pumps and do not pretend to be, but I don't believe what you guys are saying. I guess you could say I'm letting the bandwagon pass me by.
