what not to buy
to make a long story short - warp 9 wheels does not make a set of wheels that will fit our bike. i just brought home a beautiful set of black wheels and found out the hard way that the rear isn't gonna work no way, no how. looks to be a really nice wheel, just not for the klx250. well, their customer service is doing the right thing and taking them back. now they know, now i know, and now even KF knows warp 9 wheels don't fit our bike. shame really. the price was right ($359 front/$395 rear including installed bearings, sprocket, and brake rotors)
when i ordered the wheels, the guy at warp 9 knew which bike the wheels were intended for. in my excitement to install them, i found the brake rotor to be hitting the top inside of the caliper, so i measured rotors and found the warp 9 rotor to be too big (probably 250mm vs. our 240mm). i assumed they mistakenly put a front rotor on the rear hub. again, in my excitement, i figured i would remove my brake rotor from the stock wheel and install it on the warp 9. totally wrong bolt pattern. now i'm ticked. i should've calmed down and looked everything over first. at least then, i stopped and checked to see if the axle would even work, and was not too suprised to find the opening in the hub way too large for the axle. i guess size does matter !!! all of this was after they shipped me out the wrong color front wheel to begin with. i do give them credit for being up front with me and admitting they'd screwed up twice. the first was shipping the front wheel in the wrong color, the second was admitting they never researched the klx250, they took it on a dealership in utah's word that all kawasaki dirt hubs are the same. it just wasn't meant to be.
