What is broken in Tail (Brake) Light Assembly?
My 2009 KLX-250S tail light can be moved up and down about half an inch. On the other side, I found between and under two nuts/bolts, there is a plastic piece that was broken.
I was trying to find a dealer that has KLS-250S on the floor to compare, but they are all gone and waiting for 2012 models to arrive.
From attached picture you can see just above part number #35019-0056, there is a missing part, and left an plastic stub.

Taking it apart, it doesn't look like anything is broken. What I thought was "broken stub" is actually painted white spot. pictures attached.
On OEM parts diagram, it seems it is missing four parts from #92015 to #92160.

Thanks, so floppy tail is normal.
But there is some scratchy marks left-over that looks like something is missing. Look at my first posted picture, just below two screws/nuts, it looks like here is a third screw/nut missing - because of circular scratch marks left there. But parts diagram says there is no third nut there.
On my second post I thought parts #92015 to #92160 are the missing parts (in mine). No, they are parts for the two nuts that already showing in the first picture.

Mine was floppy when brand new, and it bugged me because I could hear it rattling when on washboard gravel surfaces. So I stuck an adhesive backed rubber bumper (about 3/4" square and 1/2" thick) to the top of the tail light cover (in between the light and the black plastic fender). Fixed the rattling...
LOL I just ripped mine off doing a little wheelie practice! I am waiting on the JB weld to dry now. It is a pretty crappy design the way they made it. Hope the glue holds. That thing is $70! Was awesome to get the front end up finally though. They need to put in the manual that tail light is not wheelie bar.
I have broke my tail plastic off three times now. Last time there was not enough left to hook the stock plastic back to.
This is what I came up with out of what I had laying around.

I have yet to try it out. Looks like the back tire will clear.
