2009 250S, 8289km (5151 miles). Not sure about the pavement/dirt ratio, 65/35? Too much effort to analyse it.

Also have mountain bikes to ride, a kayak to paddle and hiking boots to wear out.

Mine just rolled past 50,000 kms! Another 50 k and I'll be back to zero again.

 

I'm very interested to know what maintenance you've done, what parts (if any?) have broken/needed replacement etc. It's not very often that I hear of a small 250 dual sport that's racked up a lot of KM/Mileage, so I'm very interested in the maintenance history/issues.

 

I'll pass 23K miles this week on my 09 KLX-S. The only issue i've ever had with it was the junk stock battery that I replaced a year after purchasing it in July 08. Other than the normal maintenance (oil changes, tires, grips etc....) the only things i have done are valves shimmed @ 13K, replaced front brake pads, chain and sprockets. This bike really is bulletproof! I'm not easy on it either!! Most of that mileage has come from commuting to and from work - 50 miles a day, average speed 50-70mph, 60/40 dirt roads/pavement. It still looks and runs like new!!
