Well, now I'm in a pinch.
Happens all the time. Last time for me I was in a race at 39 mph, top of third, and washed out in a silt bed. I've never jacked around with loosening clamps, jsut get up quick so you don't get run over, then front wheel between the knees and twist the bars to fix. That's it, get back on and ride.
If you busted the lever then we have to assume you do not have the proper bark buster system installed. That's a problem. Handguards are about as important as a skidplate.

Well, I didn't fix mine as a dirt ride was happening this morning and I thought I'd maybe crash them straight.
Well, I blew a wheelie over a crooked log at 20mph and the bike took a digger, while I flew over the bars (love my armour!). Hopped up, picked up the bike and started it up, I was trying to not get left too far behind. Started riding away with the bars straight and immediately rode off the left side of the trail!
Needless to say, I stopped. Got out the tools, loosened the bottom triple clamp bolts, rode up to a tree, and banged the wheel against it, until my buddy said,"Your fender looks straight now." Tightened up the bolts and finished the ride with straight forks and bars!
