Default Weird sporadic noise

Okay long story short.

Bike ahd been torn down, but back to stock

i was almost ran over by a lady turning onto a road i was on. I revved my engine at her (clutch in, in gear)

Then revved my engine at her again at a stop sign

Two bros BTW

Then the next stop sign i heard a clicking

IT IS NOT VALVES, PISTON or TOP END.

It happens every other rotation. like for every once this click happens the engine has rotated twice.

It coming from the chain side or that hump in the front of the crankcase.

Here is the weird thing. IT GOES AWAY!

But it has only come back when you rev it out. then it goes away. But ive ridden it the past few days and no noises.

Im thinking it may be the Auto decompression mechinism on the cam??? Which is not where you said it was comeing from. So really I should keep my stray thoughts to myself.

Well my valves are in good order, exhaust is between .005 and .007 on both, intake is .005 and .006 (in) but i pulled off the side casing clutch side and found a possible culprit of my noise. Seems i dropped a head bolt washer in the timing chain area. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

i also took a peek into the oil filter "screen" and found a bunch of precious little metal chunks. Could be from anything i guess.

My mechanic said the ticking i was hearing was usually the oil ring being broke. But I dont think thats what the noise was. Cuz it wasnt every piston stroke. Just a every other. So i dunno. maybe ill pull the top end of again to be sure.

he said the transmission sounded and felt funny though. i dont want to get into that until something breaks though. The transmission seems like a scary area.

[QUOTE= Cuz it wasnt every piston stroke. [/QUOTE]

four strokes only have pressure every fourth stroke.
intake, compression, power (noise), exhaust. repeat,,,,,

You could put a Muzzy on it and the weird noise wont be so noticible :-) I swear I have to listen carefully for strange noises on my bike!
