Weighing a bike
There is always talk about how much a bike weighs but who really knows?
If you put one wheel on one set of bathroom scales and the other wheel on another, does adding the 2 together give the total weight?
I imagine it does as the total load is spread over 2 contact points.
Who has 2 sets of scales and wants to try it?
(I don't even have 1 as "her in doors" has banned them)
(some feminist thing about girls and body image I think, but I'm too frightened/smart to ask)

I've seen how they way Horses, that would probably be ideal, with the big straps aroung the frame etc.. Now just need to find someone that has a horse weighing machine or similiar..
Chris.
Chris.
Sometimes technology can conspire against you.
I bought a set of bathroom scales today.
Digital with a range up to 150kgs.
Perfect?
Nope.[:@]
Firstly you turn it on by stepping on it.
No probs there, a quick snip of a few wires and run the wires outside means I can now switch it on at will without having to step on the scales.
But, when you step on it to turn it on, you are then supposed to wait for it too zero then you step back on and it displays a reading.
So when I placed the scales under the bike, jack it up and turn it on, it zeros with the weight of the bike already on it.[:@]
Back to the drawing board.
I need to turn it on, wait till it zeros and then get the bike on.
On my own, that isn't easy.
mmmm
Of course had I bought an old fashioned mechanical set of scales, this would not have been a problem.
But it's too late to turn back.
OCD Neil must resolve this and tomorrow it will be done.
I'm thinking trolley jack.

Neil a good idea too would be to have all of the gas drained out of the tank. That way there is no guessing as to how much there is in it.

I need to work out a quick way to get the bike on the scales.
