That's because the Powercore4 doesn't fit the KLX250S stock header. You will need get a KLX300 or early KLX250 head pipe OR have some welding done if you want it to fit the stock 250S header. There is also the option of going with the FSW header.

FMF Q4, HMF and 2 Bros slip-ons all will fit the 250S header.

I don't know if they are a bolt on to the fsw header. I remember that DC4500 had to sent his fmf Q2 to Jerry so that he could fit it to the fsw header, although if it was a slip on for the klx300 I don't know why it didn't fit the fsw header.

Yeah, I've heard the same about the FSW header. There always seemed to be some sort of manipulation that was necessary. I guess itstarts looking prettyugly in a hurry as well because it's not made of stainless or titanium.

If my system ever wears-out, I might take a long look at the P-bomb. That's one sharp, well made header.

Unless there is something about the Powercore that you just can't do without, there's very little difference between that and the Q4 in terms of HP gain, plus the Q4 won't **** off your neighbors and will help to keep riding areas open

There should be some Q4 owners checking-in shortly, but here's a link to one place I found. Upperleft corner of the page has what you're looking for. Don't pay attention to the stuff listed for KLX250 'R'...they won't fit, and the '06' is a typo because the 'R' hasn't been made since like 96 or 97.

The FMF part number for the KLX250'S' slip-onis: 42156

Here's another linky:

you won't be dissappointed with the Q4. i love mine. rode again today and am stillamazed at much better the low end is compared to the muzzy. the 1/4 turn throttle might have something to do with it though. all things being equel.... the stock header and Q4 is better than a full muzzy. jmo
