Exclamation Wait for Sargent or buy Corbin?

Here the short of it:
I am doing a CT to VT to CT weekend ride July 2-3.
after 1.5-2 hours my *** starts to kill from the stock seat..
I am def. getting a new seat..
Here is my dilemma:
Should I wait for the Sargent seat to come out (Early July.. so I will have to suffer)
Or should I purchase the Corbin and have a comfy ride?

What are the benefits or each seat (or are they really the same thing with different brand names?)

Will there be any cost differences.. (I am all about saving money.. even if it means sacrificing my *** for this trip)

Let me know what you folk think.

Yo - no help from me, but where in CT are you? I'm in CT too - over near Waterbury.

I am right on the Waterbury/Naugatuck line (right next to the Industrial park in Naugatuck where Coca Cola is)

do you know if there would be any wait for the corbin seat? some seat companies have a couple week wait period cause they may not stock the klx seat so it's worth the phone call to check.

have you checked locally? i'm thinking i may go the local route myself after seeing a redone klx seat on a local forum. much cheaper, a bit more custom & less wait. (the wait effects me more cause i'm in canada)

I've owned Corbin seats in the past and they are HEAVY. They make their own pans and I think they mold them out of lead.

Why not just take your seat to an upholsterer and have it done? There is no magic in it. It will be less expensive, quicker, and you can easily have it modified if you want.

The seat concepts kit looks comfy and only around $170.

I'm swaying more towards Sargent.. here is what the Sargent rep told me when I asked what makes their product superior to others (such as corbin):

"I will give you a list of reasons why I think you should wait.
1. We have a 30 day return policy, resulting in very little risk in trying a Sargent Seat.

2. Some of our competitors seats require mounting hardware. Ours do not.

3. Our base pans are made of lightweight plastics, they are much lighter and more durable, than our competitors heavy fiberglass pans. Most people want their dual sports to be as light as possible. Fiberglass pans are very heavy.

4. We are the only ones offering a seat like the xt series. The fact that our base pan actually has extensions to support the added width, and weight of the passenger is what sets it apart. Foam that is just hanging over the side of the base pan for added width, does not support nearly as much weight as foam that is supported with structure underneath is."
