valve clearence

Default valve clearence

ok i just got done checking my valves and they are at the low end of the clearence scale but they aren't out of spec. should i get new shims to open the clearence more or not worry yet? By the way NoBrakes thank you very much for your write up and pic.'s of your valve adj.!!! Any thoughts or info would be awesome. Thanks in advence...

thanks for the reply lcpl i have all the shims out and i am headed to the shop in the later am.

UGH I'm about to start a thread about this once I get my research together... my valves sound HORRIBLE... I'm nervous every time I start the bike. Sounds like a train going down tracks them valves are so loud.

How many miles do you have, out of curiosity?

cliffsta i have about 15,700 ish miles on my bike, if you want good research then find the post that nobrakes did he has pic.'s and step by step of what you need to do and alot of damn good tips!!!

oh one other thing...make sure you have you manual for the vale shims you will need and your torque spec.'s
