If I can find a pipe for my 09,is there anything else I absolutely have to do before I install it? Or can I make other mods like rejetting, air box later.Or do I have to all at once?

You'll want to rejet and if you want, get some more air running into the box ie: remove the lid. If your systems is too lean (and it will be for sure if you throw on a pipe, it will damage your pipe and run too hot. Do it all at once.

I would recommend rejetting asap because it is already lean from the factory. Installing an aftermarket exhaust will just make it worse which could result in damaged valves. A slip-on won't be as crucial as a full exhaust which has a larger header pipe. What you do need to do is remove the smog system so your pipe will run cooler. The smog system is the hoses from the front of the engine to the carb. Just unhook the hoses, remove them and install small rubber caps on the areas where the hoses connected to.
Remove your snorkel on the top of the airbox, enlarge the hole or remove the lid altogether. Then buy a jet kit or the oem keihin parts to enlarge the main jet (look under the sticky thread "part numbers" for part numbers, then go to ronayers.com to order), pilot jet (if needed) and adjustable needle jet (N1TC for the keihin part). Then throw in a hi-flo air filter (Uni-filter or twin-air) and you're done. Don't forget the 13-tooth front sprocket for a big boost in low-end.

Follow the instructions in this thread and you'll be in business. Adjust jets to your altitude. PS. Our '09's do not have TPS'. This is good.

Air in, air out, tweak the carb, 13 tooth and wash daily. That's about it.

whats the deal with the crank case vent on the 09's? Is it the same deal as the 06/07?

If it is that might be nother thing to check out.

that mod doesn't really do jack imo. nonetheless, it is an easy mod and yes, the '09 crankcase vent is the same. heat up the right sized drill bit to red hot and push through. 5 seconds later, mod is done.

I agree it probably doesnt do jack....but if you ran the nobrakes trick with the filter and larger hose....if the theory is correct that should do something for you.

I thought I had noticed a slight difference when I did mine. Could have just been in my head...or it was cold. At any rate you wont get oil going into your carb.
