Here's an interesting tidbit: my buddy's KLX300 was in the local Kaw dealer (known for their pretty good work) for a power-up kit, and they changed the pilot from #35 to the next size down (think that was a #32). More snap off the bottom end.

This was probably due to your elevation in SW Idaho.

Could be. We are around 3000 ft in town, and usually ride up from here. Many other riders on this forum at similar elevations actually up their pilots. Just kind of makes me wonder if some of us riders at higher elevations would benefit from a smaller than stock pilot. Or if anyone has even tried it.

I would go big bore before cams. The cams help but from what i understand they work alot better with the BB, as does everything else.

Im am not going to replace the cams. I am going to degree the cams. I read the sticky post on it and im sure I can handle the job. I figure that it would be good time to check the valves at the same time. I will go for the big bore kit once I run into the money tree.

hey guys, I just got back from my Dealership he told me on my 09 KLX250 SF, all I need to do is the new slipon exhaust and a K&N Filter, not to bother with a re jet?? he told me that Kawasakis are just too "plugged" up from the factory, I know this guy he is good and has a great rep. What do y'all think??

If you go with the K and N filter I'd rejet and I'm one of the guys that says over and over that for just a slip-on it can wait.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in order to meet emissions, most if not all of the oem rides are extremely lean. So...if you change the exhaust flow and bring in more air with a free'er flowing air filter....I would think that a re-jetting is a must.

I'm afraid that if you add the hi flow K&N plus a free flow exhaust without re jetting you're asking for trouble.
