Smile Ugrade Exhaust finally!!!

After riding my klx for 4 years now. I have finaly decided to upgrade the exhaust to a FMF Q4 with the power bomb head pipe. I know thissubject has been gone over a million times. But I would like are your thoughts on jetting and airbox mods. I ride at sea level. In the Pacific NW.

This is the same setup I am seriously thinking about getting soon... what made you decide power bomb over the mega bomb, jw because I am thinking of the power bomb just to save enough for heated grips lol.

I went with the power bomb over the mega bomb for the simple reason it a little smaller were it counts. Right next to my leg and very hot. Also I didn't think I would see any more real gains. I know that you can only squeeze so much out of the little 250 with bolt on's.

Yea, the easiest way is a jet kit, but you can get by cheaply with just ordering a new main jet and you're done. I can't remember what size I put in. Maybe someone can give you the size.

You really need the new needle as well. The stock needle is worthless imo.

I jetted mine with the stage two dyna jet kit removed the snorkel (uni filter). New slowjet (forget size). I have the powerbomb in a box and am awaiting the arrival of the the Q4. Dynajet about 55.00 on eBay. Install as instructed, I'm 2 and 1/4 turns out on the air screw. Running like a champ right now. Hope it doesnt change with the new exhaust. Hardest part of the reject was carb removal.

The dyno jet kit (jets and a needle) is around $50, and has instructions for a few differen't set-ups and most times they are pretty close if you study the info. Add a good performance air filter when you jet it.

Ok so im getting impaintent. I tore down the bike. Carb is off and on the bench. Smog crap is in the spare parts box. Adding a dyno jet kit to my motorcycle superstore order.. I am going to leave the snorkel out for now. Rerounting the crankcase breather. Funny how a exhaust upgrade grows into even more work. Now I thinking about air filter. K&n or foam. I better hurry and finish before i run out of cash .....

Nothing wrong with a K an N as they give great performance, better than most but some people who don't use them don't like them. I use a Uni right now and it's fine.
