Two Useful Tricks
1. "Gorilla Glue": For years thru many dirtbikes, getting my grips to not slip on the bars have been a challenge. I used a couple drops of gorilla glue when installing my bark busters and the grips hold firm, even after washes and mud baths.
2. "Corosion Block" its an expensive lubricant (about $17 for a spray can about the size of WD40). I found it in a marine supply store. I use it on all metal joints and as an assembly lubricant for nuts and bolts. It's supposed to prevent rust for months. I'm hesitant to use it on the electrical stuff because someone said the oil has properties that prevents electrical conductivity (anyone have any experience with this). Anyhow....

RE: Two Useful Tricks
I use Boeshield T-9 on all my marine power heads, especially electrical, it leaves a thin waxy film that resists water and salt for several months, IMHO the best there is for that application. I haven't tried it yet on my bike because it's still too new . The only concern I would have is sugar sand sticking to it.
