I do take mine on the highway but I also keep it to around 60. It is fine at that speed for me. Higher seems like a lot of work.

I know that feeling, out here we have a huge amount of oilfield traffic (18 wheelers), make up about 10-20% of the traffic depending on the time of day. Little 250sf handles the 70-75mph interstate speeds alright even with all the big rigs.

OMG you poor thing........take the frickin bus! A ten mile ride at 90mph vs 60 is a whopping difference in time of, are you ready??? three and a third min.!
Holey Crap, I had no idea I could save so much time. Just think I won't "have to" ride my klx as much or for so long! WooooHoooo! AND my chances of survival will be greatly reduced at the higher speeds if, "my card comes up", U know what I'm sayin?
For crying out loud, chill out and enjoy the longer ride. I'm just sayin.

My company won't pay me mileage on my bike, so I don't take it to work often. Weekends I'll do 100 mile rides and more than half is at freeway speeds. I let it scream at 8000 RPMs for 40 miles, climb a mountain, circle around, and do another 40 miles while it screams at 8000 RPMs... I do change the oil alot. The bike doesn't seem to mind it at all.

ditto...70-75 mph is average flow of traffic in ca freeways...speed limit 65 mph on freeways...70 mph on highways...i rather go little faster at 75 mph to 80 mph and stay on the fastlane away from the trucks kicking up rocks...

I can see the S being a "bad" commuter against the SF. I am not a big fan of knobby tires on pavement. Street tires and a 39T sprocket make a difference.

My 8 miles commuts involves about 4 miles of 70 mph freeway. I don't know if it is the d606 knobbies or something else but I definitely get the death wobble, or headshake above 70mph. Do you all think that the tire choice is what causes the wobble? Solid as a rock below say 65.

I do think the tires have a lot to do with that shakiness at high speeds. Not to mention the light weight and upright sitting position. I wonder how much of an improvement would be gained with a stabilizer.

ahnh666, you have one right... how do you like it? What was the cost and was it easy to install?

had speed wobbles above 70mph on the klx250sf...professional suspension adjustments cold and hot for my weight solved that problem...

the stabilizer/damper solved the wiggle and wobble going through rough roads at high speeds...can go through deep groove and cracks at any speed one-handed...i can feel the stabilizer working..kind of gliding smoothly across the cracks...
