Default Turning Heads

I don't ride on the street as much as most of you, except back roads to get to the trails. But I notice that I get a lot of looks from people, almost like they're surprised to see me on the road? Although, I'm in cruiser country, not many dual sports on the road. Maybe some are surpised becuase I wear a helmet? I think I'm the only one anymore.

Have others noticed this?

Yes everyone looks at me like they can't believe I haven't been caught yet for riding on the road. LOL Even the cops are taking a second look. But I know everyone here so they have gotten used to me. Now if I can just stop doing wheelies in town I'll be ok. But its so fun. Especially when you come to a speed bump in first gear and just gas it and pull the bars and up the front goes. Honest officer it was an accident......hehe

yes it is true these bikes draw a lot of attention, because u just dont see lime green dualsports, period. and to top it all off this bike really looks like a true dirtbike, number plates, upside down forks etc etc. even more so here in california where u cant even buy one, i dont have to worry about ever running into someone with the same bike thats for sure. one guy the other day was down on his knees looking at my bike that was parked in front of the grocery store, i stood from a distance and smiled, knowing that would be me if i wasnt the owner. ten years from now i will still get more looks than any sportbike or harley simply because people expect to see those on the street, what they dont expect is to see is a tall thin green machine with knobbies on the street so it kind of surprises them. and just yesterday a guy pulled up next to me rolled down his window and shouted nice bike. nobody would do that to a sportbike rider, since there are soooo many of them around here and they all look the same.

Hey guys, I am new to the seen but I already have a good story about looks. I was cruising through a small village on my lime green caddy, I passed a state trooper looked in my mirror and he was spinning gravel on his way to tell me how much he liked my new bike. He came flying up behind me and must have finally realized what it was and drooped back and eventually turned back around and went on his way. This bike is a total riot.

Hey, welcome man good story, I have had a lot of compliments even in my one stop light town.

this isn't my town but when I was driving home a few years ago from Longview to Aberdeen Wa I saw these guys pulling up to this small tavern. It just seemed like a good picture, almost a time warp.

I get plenty of looks and compliments on my mean, lean and lime green machine, and I have seen a couple of others round here

im gettin the same reaction as the rest of you guys, even more so when i take the quiet core of the my big gun... that really draws the attention... its so obnoxious... hehe i love it... i went cruising through Quaker Steak and Lube on thursday night (bike night) everyone was staring at me... of course i was all muddy and the quiet core was out... hehe, some of the hard core harly type guys looked like they wanted to kill me... its fun though. i like being different... i have seen a few other dual sports in my area, one guy has a blue suzuki, and i have seen a red yamaha i think... o well this bike is a blast...

Hey Deej, where is that tavern? I know that I've seen it, just can't place it. These bikes do draw a TON of attention. Everyone looks at it from little kids, too old ladies. No offense to the Harley riders here, but I love the fact that I seem to get more looks on my $5000 dual sport, than most guys on their $15,000 Harleys. I realize it's because it's because you see Harleys everywhere you look, but it's great anyway.

I think its between Oakville and Elma, but I can't seem to find a map anywhere that shows those small towns. But I did find this while looking. Man I wonder if AAA pulled him out. That must be on the great lakes frozen highway, That would be scary for sure, Pucker factor!!

I think the tanker in the ice is on the river crossing on the way to YellowKnife in the NWT. It looks like an incident that happened while I was working up there.
