turkey run last weekend
adam(bostonatv) cmon 6969(didn't catch his real name) and myself met up at the turkey run in wichendon ma. on saturday and sunday. the riding was typical new england. a pretty good variety of trails, power lines, and gravel fire roads. saturday was just a short 38 mile loop. sunday was 100 miles. it was for me anyway. adam got a flat in less than a mile into the day and without either one of us having a new tube, his day was over. we tried fix a flat but the valve stem was ripped off the tube.[:@][:@]. there was at least 150 bikes there which made for some crowded single track riding. every skill level was well represented. there ere even a few women/girls. one of them on a ktm 2smoke could really motor. not many pics but here they are anyway.
this is adam with the 2 bikes.

this one here was taken after adam left. one of the few times i wasn't surrounded by a herd of KTM's

this was the fuel stop. only one high test pump was available so it took about 45 mins to get fuel. it seemed as though everyone got there at about the same time. you can't even see a 1/3 of the bikes cause they all lined up going down the road behind the gas station.

this hill got just about everyone. it doesn't seem like much in the photo but it's about 85 yds. up to the top and it got worse the higher you went.

oh yeah there was some mud too. there it is 116 miles for me. i was whipped by the time i got back to the truck. i think we left at about 9:00 and i got back at 4:05.

i rode most of the day with guys on crf250's and 2smoke 200's. getting out of corners the other bikes had the obvious advantage butklx had no problem keepingup.i do have to get the suspension set up for my weight though.

Thanks for the pics, Craig - that looks crazy with all those riders. That gas station pic is nuts, I thought it was hard to get gas when we stopped in NJ with only a dozen of us and 3 pumps.
Looks like some good trails, though - very nice!

Nice pics, looks like a good time was had by all. I just found out that there is a turkey run here every year, and in fact this is the 50th anniversary. I have lived here all my life and never heard of this event that has been going on right under my nose. And I missed it.[&:]
But come next year I will let all the Washington guys know ahead of time.

Very cool! The terrain you were riding in looks a lot like what we have here. The local ATV club has what they call a Poker Run once a month. Basically it's the same as your ride, but there is an entry fee, and 5 stops along the route. At each stop, they roll dice, and after the 5th stop, thehighest sum of dice rollswins half the pot (the club keeps the other half). Only problem is, they won't let any motorcycles in their club or on their rides. [:@]
Thats my bike in the picture of the gas station right by the pumps it is the klx with the helmet hanging on the bars. Thoes trail are good I will be riding thoese trails next time I go riding
