Default Traded in my KLX

I had a great time on my KLX, but I never found enough places to ride off road locally, and it's no practical for longer 2-up rides. My BMW R1150R doesn;t have enough wind protection or legroom. Long story short, I needed a touring bike, but still wanted something that handled descent and isn't a 800+lb pig. I test rode an R1200GS and a R1200RT... and settled on the RT... with input form my wife. It's not easy ot convince a woman you need a $19k motorcycle. But she loves riding too, and youonly live once.I wish I could keep 2 or even 3 bikes, but if I need ot pick one, I'll take the long distance comfort. It's loaded, comfy and still pretty darn fast. Heck, even my car doesn't have cruise control, heated seats, ABS or Stability control (really just a anti-wheelie system). This bike rocks! Maybe someday I can add a dual sport back into the stable... but not likely.

This forum has been helpful and a great resource. Thanks to all.

I think there must be some way to disconnect the anti-wheelie device.Once you start modding the new ride you might want to check into that. It sounds like it already has everything you can put on a bike. Good luck!

Nice ride, just don't get an intercom- she'll never stop telling you to 'slow down'.

You should march into your nearest Suzuki Dlr and tell them you want a DRZ-SM.
