Torque spec?
I finally got the right replacement goot peg mount to replace the one I bent in the desert. This is the right side foot peg mount, bolts to the frame with two nuts. I figure that this must be a pretty tight torque, can anyone with a service manual please look up the required torque for those two nuts?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Look on this page for a couple posted manuals...it's in the sticky FAQs!

I looked in the FAQ and found other torque specs but not this one. This is a pretty stout bolt, 29 ft-lbs doesn't seem tight enough. ol'klx-er: where did you get that number? Feel good about it? Was there a requirement for loc-tite?
Perfect. Thanks guys. My ears are ringing now from the awesome sound of hitting my skid plate with a mini-sledge to try and straighten it out. I almost have the old peg off.
Found the torque value on page 15-3 of the 2009 service manual, no mention of using loctite. Couldn't hurt to use a drop of blue. 29 sounds OK for that size of bolt. I haven't had that bracket off.
Okay, it's on. The nuts in question are those funky lock nut style with the little metal tab that keeps them tight. 29 lbs felt pretty good when I realized that.
Time for a quick ride to remember what it feel like to have my right foot squarely planted on the pokey side of the foot peg.
