Default took the bike to the dyno.

Dont have the bike back yet. But thought id share some interesting finds with you guys.

I have a 2009 sf. with 2bros dj kit 2182 twin air and no screen. or smog.

Talked to the dyno guy earlier and he found that with the pipe corked with the p4 tip and screen. I actually was loosing out on 5ftlb of tq. Ill get exact rpms and what not tomorrow when i get the bike back. Ill deal with the loudness for 5 extra ftlb's.

Now he is trying to find out a reason why the bike is starving for fuel in the higher rpms and leaning out. Come to find out the float bowl vent tube was clogged with something.

The bike has made so far around 22hp and 15 ftlb's. But those numbers should change since he found the reason for the leaning condition up top. I will post the final results tom. when i go pick the bike up. Wish i could have stayed there and watched the process. But its an hour away from my house.

If anybody lives in west central or central florida. I highly recommend Dynoworks in sarasota. The guys name is Donny and he is a stand up dude. Btw this site rocks for anything klx!!!

Did you get the runs done w/ and w/o airbox lid?

I asked him too. but he was so wrapped up in trying to figure out the high rpm starvation he didnt do it. sorry man.

No worries. I think most folks have already pretty much decided on their own what must be the best configuration. No dyno plot would change that.

That 5ftlb. (33% of the peak value!!!) difference from a "quiet tip" on/off is amazing.

These are the kind of surprises only a real dyno test will reveal. No one could have ever predicted that result by looking at the parts in question and trying to guess what their effect is.

ya with the tip in it made 10ftlb's not sure of the rpm yet. and with it out it increased 5 more ftlb's. Id say thats quite significant. this is all low end power too.

Blue is base run and red is final. ended up with a dj 134 main. and 40 pilot. needle on 2nd from top. Ive got a 13 a/f across the board this is where the bike ran best. As you can see my air box is cut out. blue is with just the snorkel removed 132 main 35 pilot 3rd clip and 2 turns out on air screw with a two bros slipon with p4 tip twin air no smog no screen. not sure on the air screw adjustment on the final but i will check when i get a chance.

so red is 134 main(which was honed out to maybe a 135 since dj doesnt make one.) 40 pilot and 2nd clip from top on needle with airbox cut out about another couple inches same as above with just the p4 tip out. Bike runs freaking AWESOME!!!

Im at sea level. mods are dj kit 2182 two bros slip-on twin air, no smog, no screen.
As you can see with the p4 in had a nasty dip in torque from 4rpm till about 5.5rpm. With it out its much more linear. Enjoy hope this will help some people.

Cool results, thanks for posting!

Looks like even in the baseline run the jetting was pretty much spot-on between 4K - 9.5K RPM.

So real difference between red and blue is:
Blue: p4 "quiet tip" in, stock airbox lid on / no snorkel
Red: p4 tip out, airbox lid almost completely removed.

So you're running almost perfect AFR's with a 134/135 D-jet? That would be the equivalent of a 145 Keihin main. Wow.

yup those are the jets the bike ran best with so he stuck with it. He had the bike for 1 and half days. did all this for 200$ god only knows how many dyno runs. I was pretty close with the jetting i had but the bike feels nowhere near as it did then. **** is so linear it feels like a fi bike.
