[&:] 11 stickies vs. 14 actual threads on the main page...

I've got a big monitor with 1600 x 1200 resolution, and when I load the forum there's nothing useful in the visible screen area...
(until you scroll down a full screen or more)

The banner image and advertisements take up 60% of my screen, then the sticky threads take up the rest... (and they rarely change)
Why does the banner have to be so frikkin tall? Look at all that wasted real estate at the top of this page.

I dunno - I'm into good web design and this site is NOT it. OK, rant over for today.

 

I hate that the ads load up first and then you wait for the forums...

Those adds are responsible for us being able to continue to enjoy this great site. So quit whining.[8D] Just messing with ya, yea I know what you mean.

I use Firefox at home and it is great, except the site hangs sometimes while trying to post with it.

At work I cannot change my browser...but posting is cake.

 

Looks fine on my Mac and the ads don't seem to be in the way (it is a 17" 1280X1024 which makes it taller though - less is more?).

 

bring me back? um, where'd ya take me to and why didn't I know about it?
