TKC80 vs D606
Hi!
I've been looking around tire thread in the last couple of month to help me choose new tires. I didn't like how the stock D605 worked in wet conditions so decided to change them even though they are almost new. My choice is down to 2 models, the Conti TKC80 or the Dunlop D606. I can get both for almost the same price. Not much info on the TKC on small bike like the KLX but seems great on heavier bike. I wander if they will be as great on a KLX?
I will be riding about 40-50% pavement and most of the rest on gravel/dirt/fire road. Not much trail. Wont be doing any sand or winter riding. I'm in eastern Canada. I'm looking for a safe tire that will handle great on the non paved road and wet conditions. So which one should I choose between the TKC80 or the D606?
Thanks

havnt tried conti, have used 606 and kenda k270, 606 are great tire but wear on the road if you doing allot of miles, a little more of a dot dirt tire.Kenda is a great 50/50 tire, not bad wear and pretty good in dirt (not really muddy cond tho).better wet road traction as well.
mx1 in eastern canada has great prices and free shipping on dual sport tires.
cheers

I didn't like the 605's either, they scared me off road. I have the 606's on it now and off road they are great no complaints, on the road they are as good as the 605's were, only a lttle noiser. And they do wear, I can see a noticable difference after only 1000 miles.
I prefer the Kenda 270 over the Dunlop 606, I'm 90% off-road in the desert. Aired down, the 270 acts a lot like a trial's tire. Fully aired up, it's MUCH smoother than the 606 on the pavement. The K270 lasts longer, too. I don't have any first-hand experience with the other tire you mentioned.
Are the K270 better than the stock D605 in wet and trail conditions? They say it is a 50/50 tire. I'm willing to loose a little "roadability" and get something I will not be scared to ride off road.
I don't ride in wet. I ride in dust, rocks, and sand. You are correct to get recommendations for your actual riding conditions!
you probably are best to get the D606 then they are 100% better in those conditions but still decent onroad.
