Default for those who did the mototune breakin

I have a couple of questions that weren't quite clear on the web page.Do you need the 15 min breakbetween cycles when you do the break in on the street? After the last full throttle run and decel is the motor then considered brken in? And do you need to use automotive oil for the first 1500 miles or can you use motorcycle oil, or doesn't it matter? Thanks.

I did that break in. I took thru three cycles and then I changed the oil. I then rode fifty miles increasing rpms by a thousand every ten mile. Came home and changed oil again, and I now have 3200 miles on it and not a hint of a problem , bike revs freely to redline and pulls very strong. I use rotellea oil. Duane5157

I ran like I would normally withhout going over 6000 rpm for the first 143.6....I drained it then.....I then went with Amsoil for the next 350 or so.I just did the last dump at 511.3. miles and I saw very little aluminum and clutch material in the oil compared to the first drain.I also do not baby it either. Not redline running but i frequently see 8000 rpm for the use I do.I always tell people to do it how they see fit but i know what I do always has worked for me.....I did the same for my atv and that has over 3000 miles and 700 hours on it and it runs better than the day i bought it.....It'll only start and arguement to say one way is better than the other.

Very good, simple guidelines. I will add, however, that the 15min cycles areanother good rule to adhere to. You don't want to run the bike too hot for too long while in the break-in period.
