The more I have been looking at the 06-08 KLX the more bikes I see with a silver stock rear rack. Did this come stock with the bike? Reverse engineering would make for an easy design, but a damn hard sell if everyone already has a rear rack for free on their bike.

Man I wish I lived in GA, just saw a peach KLX for 2K on Craigslist there.

 

the 06-07's have a nice little rack on them.

pmracks, might still be worthwhile as the stock rack on the '06-'07* is quite small.
Also no side panel racks.

*there wasn't a '08 in NA. The '09 was already for sale July (June?) '08.

 

Well I know that if or once there is a rack made for the '06-'07 models, I'd be definitely IN for one! The stock rack is too small to do much of anything with and doesn't provide a great flat surface to put soft luggage on..... which is why I attached a Storm case to my rack by drilling through the bottom and attaching with U-bolts and attaching my Rotopax mount to the top of it!

 

Not new in the hood but i just installed a cycle rack. Also scored a set of their panniers and hope to use them soon!

 

Gotta love the cycleracks, those things are HUGE!! Go check out the Ebay picture and story he has of the van hitting a TW200 with his rack installed, awesome! Type in TW200 rack on Ebay and it will come up.

pmracks, do you think your side racks will work with the CycleRacks, with a spacer of some sort on the upper forward mount?

 

I doubt my side racks will work with the cycle rack, it takes up a lot of room on the side that looks like a direct blockage of where my side racks would install. The spacer would have to go way too far out and the mounting would become weak.
