Supermotarding the KLX250S
Oh, I've seen the pictures and I've gone into a high level of lusting!
The 17 inch front and rear wheels for the KLX with the sportbike style tires is just so, so enticing!
Perhaps I need to look at buying some wheels and putting them on the bike.
Or, could I just invest in a set of tires - perhaps some of the more sporty dualsport tires?
You know, something like the Avon Distanza which comes in sizes to fit the stock rims?
Perhaps the Metzeler Lazertec Z-6 radials might be the way to go?
A budget tire - which works very well on my KLR650 - is the Duro HF904.
Perhaps this might be a low buck way of finding out if this is the way you want to go without spending a few hundred $$$$'s!

Marty come back from the dark side, you already have road bikes. Guys I think we are loosing him.........paddles ready!!!! CLEAR!!!!! ZAP! Its no use he's gone.
No wait, I think I feel a pulse - what's that Marty, did you say something? Did I hear you say cam shafts, big bores and carburetors??? Whew, it was faint but he definitely whispered those words. He's still with us!
deej,
Thanks for the slap to wake me up. I was just giving out some info for folks that would like to explorel that avenue.
But I'll tell you this Bunky, When I was up in the mountains of North Carolina running along the Blue Ridge Parkway, none of the riders on the dualsport bikes could hang with the KLX in the tight curves. When we made a "Kodak Moment" picture stop, one of the guys was standing behind my bike staring at the tire in the rear. "You sure did use all of that tire!" was his comment. I walked around to the back of the bike and saw what he was talking about. After coming off the gravel, the tires had a grey dust coating on them. The areas of the tire that were in contact with the asphalt were pure black. My rear tire was pure black all the way to the edges, no chicken strips were left! I can only imagine a set of sport bike tires on the bike, 331 cc's, aftermarket cams and a pumper carb . . . . eyes glaze over . . . . "King of the Gap" thoughts start . . . . . No, I'm getting too old to run with the kiddies any more . . . . . or am I?
