Default Traffic light triggers

Has anyone tried to put hard drive magnets on their bike to help trigger stop lights

I just get the attention of the car behind me an have them pull forward on to the pad, ours are pressure sensitive, and me+KLX isn't always heavy enough to set it off.

Look for the inductive loop wires embedded in the asphalt and try to stop the wheels of the bike over them. I've heard talk of pressure sensitive light triggers but have never seen one (could not even find an image via google). I doubt any municipality would spend the kind of money required to build and maintain such a complicated mechanism considering the vast amount of wear and tear it would receive from traffic volume.

We have the circle inductive type around here. Like wildcard mentioned, I try to stop with my front wheel directly over some part of the circle. Seems to work on my Z1000 most of the time, but the KLX hardly ever triggers a light. I just hope a car comes up behind, but am occasionally forced to just turn on a red when the traffic is clear at the really stubborn lights.

Not knowing exactly how the inductive type sensors work, would adding some strong neodymium magnets down by the front axle actually help trigger lights? Any electrical engineers in the house?

Putting your kickstand down over the wires sometimes work, they also sell some motorcycle specific magnets for just this purpose, there have been tests done by some motorcycle magazines, IIRC they actually do work and so does putting your kickstand down
