Default Steel vs Aluminum

I'm looking to go with a 45 tooth rear sprocket and I was curious about the life of an aluminum sprocket as I will be putting on some street miles soon. Should I go with a steel sprocket such as the JT?

I would suggest a steel sprocket for the longevity .....An aluminum sprocket will hold up great for most things but for the ultimate in long lasting a quality steel sprocket is the way to go.

General rule is aluminium for racing where every ounce counts and lasting a long time is not important, steel fornon competitionriding for long lasting performance.

If you do get aluminum, get one that is hard anodized. That helps life.
