Hey David, I never saw that post. Looks good!

Mike, Mines just a one off. Not cost effective to make them one at a time, unless you don't mind paying $50 a piece for them , and I'm not set up to mass produce them.

Use a thick bead of RTV, you want crush zone.

I went with the 2 sided 3M VHB tape. It is foam based so it has some crush value, and it's much stronger than RTV . The tape has held up well so far.

I took a different approach to a stator cover protector. After damaging the cover after several tip-overs and having the shifter digging into the case, I made a protector that attaches to a case bolt and fits snug up against the cover. For added security I used a thin coat of silicone but I don't think it was necessary. This also creates a nice place for my riding boot to rub up against when down shifting. I used to wear the paint off on that area. So far it is working great. It took some time to make the bends and fit the contours of the case but with a little time and effort I finally got it right. And I had to add a Yoshimura engine plug to get the finished look.

Thanks, but this is a one-off part. The engine plug is from ebay for $24.95 and free shipping:

Very nice! How much aluminum did you go through before you got the bend right?
