Glad you got it sorted. A lot of people overlook fuel bowl level when carb tuning or repairing. Sounds like you used the clear tube measuring method which is really the only way to insure a rock solid fuel level. Yeah, it sounds like you may need a bigger pilot jet with that many turns on the fuel/air screw. Be careful...at 4.5 turns out it is quite likely the needle will vibrate out of the carb relatively soon.
