Default Spun Aluminum Aux. Tank Installed.

When I was ordering the BB351 kit, I wasn't sure how it would affect the bike's range so, I ordered this tank. I've only put about 10-15 miles in since filling both tanks so I'll have to report back with the final range I get.

Side notes: This will be all street and dirt road riding. Also, I have the aux. tank plumbed into the bike's fuel line after the petcock with it's own shut-off valves, one down by the carb intake line and the other at the tank.

Looks kinda crazy but cool at the same time. Looking forward to hearing your range with this badboy.

I know, might look lame but, 1.2 gallons extra? I live 30-45 min. from anything. This is exactly what I need and its cheaper than the alternatives.

Newblud, I don't think we're making fun as much as just having fun with your tank. There's a current thread over on the ADV Rockies forum where one of the inmates has something almost identical to yours on his bike, and they just did a hardcore trip where that tank was plenty useful and plenty sturdy. If it works, it works, and that's what counts. I think we can often get too wrapped up in looks rather than function as perhaps evidenced by the recent IMS fuel tank thread. Nothing wrong with some style, but style can suck when you're sitting miles away from a possible fuel service with an empty bike. Hiking out in MX boots also sucks. Joking aside, my only critique would be the loss of having a place to attach my small-to-medium sized rack bag for my longer rides...but...different people have different ways to skin the proverbial cat.

Hey, no worries. After these replies I did notice the similarities to the Heinie mini keg in the fridge. I'm just hoping the heat lets up here so I can get on with the range test. And yeah, the tank does pretty much take up most of the room on the rack. The good thing is that with my armor on, the weight of my backpack is pretty well distributed so its not too uncomfortable.
