Middle aged dude here. I have a SPOT II and have the tracking option. I ride alone and take overnight trips. Worrisome, but loving wife(of 30 years) can check to see where I am. I can send messages to her email. Most places I go have cell reception but it gives wife peace of mind. When wife is happy everyone is happy.

I’ve had my SPOT for a few years now. Whether I’m riding my cruiser on the back roads or camping with my dual sport, I take my SPOT. As mentioned already, it’s a great way to check in with the wife each night during a 2 week camping trip (where there is absolutely NO cell phone coverage within 35 miles) with a set message “having a great time – wish you were here.” Do I really wish she was there? Not really but it makes her think “he misses me.”
