Default Speedo off?

Just hit the Cascade Mountains for a ride. I had cage drivers riding my *** getting to the mountains and noticed my speedo is a good 6+ MPH off (says faster) compared to me GPS. I know my GPS spot on. I'm on stock tires. Are these speedos really that far off?

how do you wire it?

Does it go into the dash, or on the sensor going to the front tire?

They have one you can wire in that's generic or lucky for us KLX lovers they offer a plug n play one. You unplug the speedo from the dash and plug it into the DRD, then the DRD plugs into the dash. SIMPLE! You won't regret it, works like a charm and if you don't like it you just unplug it and take it out. Only one thing about our Kawis...If you make the speedo perfect then the odometer is off...I know...annoying, but it is what it is.

Oh, there is a little button you hold down and do some sequences with the blinking led to program it. Screw the directions, just find the YouTube video.

Kid55, on your original question about the KLX's, and many others, speedo being off...if NASA had used the KLX speedo for a base of computation, they would have only missed the moon by about...2 light years...LOL!

But seriously, yes. They are off. The odometer on the other hand isn't that bad.

so if my bike has 3700 miles on it,

is that the correct mileage?

I bought it with 1200 miles.
