So I got my Big Gun this weekend, There's a problem
i got my big gun directly from them i talked to Tyler.... and i emailed him about the missing screw and he sent out more for me... you could try him...
Update :
Just called Big gun and talked to Allison I believe. I explained that I purchased the Evo-x and that the srews holding the red tail end piece was on so tight I stripped the allen hole in one of the screws trying to get them out. She put me on hold to talk to someone.
Came back a couple of minutes later and stated that since " I " was the one who stripped the allen hole out she wasnt sure if they could do anything for me. I shut her down right there and told her the Reason the screw got stripped to begin with is because " They " put it in so tight. She stated that she would have to talk to her general manager about it.
I explained that was fine But I wanted her and her manager to understand that if big gun wasnt going to stand by thier product then I would remove the screw on my own and Never buy another big gun product again EVER. I would also post of my experience on the forums I'm on and make dam sure others understood that big gun doesnt stand by their products. She stated she understood but would have to talk to her manager.
What a wasted phone call. I can already see where this is going But I did mean what I said. I will drill the head off myself and then Never give Big Gun another dime as long as I live. She is suppose to call me back later so we will see but I'm pretty sure I already know the answer. What can I do right, At least I got the right head pipe, I think.....

Unless you're a dealer or reseller, I don't think saying that you'll never buy anything from them again bothers them very much ... most consumers rarely buy more the one exhaust system. What affects them more is bad press that gives them a reputation for poor products and/or service, especially if the bad press gets to dealers and resellers.
The worst part to your story (so far, and hopefully that's all) is that it costs them next to nothing to send you a couple screws ... they come out smelling like roses, you're a happy customer, nothing but good words all around. I guess its like Phil said to me:
Big Gun's Customer Service philosophy:
"Sometimes we makes mistakes, and we make our customers suffer because of it."
Hope it works out for ya!

Bad news man - I just hope you don't have to talk with "Phil" (He's got a college degree, which he pointed out to me several times ... thought I'd warn you!)

Well this is My Second and probably Last big gun system so they may not care in the long run but it does cost them. Several Hundread bucks at least every time someone decides to buy a muzzy or other exhaust system instead of the Big gun. And the things people post up here does matter. I decided against muzzy because of the spring and passanger footpeg issue's I read about here.
Sending me extra screws wont matter because I can no longer get the 3rd one out without drilling it out and possible messing something else up. Which reminds me, anybody else notice they want 9 bucks for 3 screws. Isnt that just a Little High for 3 screws. I will be buying my replacement screws from a hardware store If I can thank you. Maybe they tighten those screws so much in the Hope that you have to buy extras from them.
I Dont Expect to get a call back as promisied. Even If I do and they say ok send it back I will then be paranoid that I will send the endcap back only to have it disappear in the mail someplace or take weeks to ship it back to me or have to continue to fight with them for them to warranty it. In the long run it will probably be easier just to drill the screw head off and then never deal with Big Gun again. That is right after I get my Black anodized endcap from them. Btw, did you ever got the Correct headpipe or they still dicking around on you.

I've sat back and read this being quiet as long as I can. Lord, we get along on most things, but tbh, on this one it sounds like you were trying to find something wrong with the product. And removing messed up screws with the heads torqued off is no big deal. And if those screws weren't in there so tight they would vibrate right out like mine did over time. To spend that kind of money on a pipe and to get it and the first thing you do is peel emblems off and remove this and try and remove that, that imo is fishing for trouble. Sure they probably use the cheapest screws/bolts they can to keep the price down but they probably do not plan on people tearing them apart as soon as they're taken off the ups truck. I know you don't like what I'm saying but it's just my take. You got the right product, now use some tools and fix it since you were the one who stripped the heads of those screws in the first place. Do you know the colored accessory tailpieces are like $40? Why would you want to change that anyways, you already tore the BG emblem off so why would you care what color the tailpiece is? I know I'll be accused of this and that and thought of in many ways for posting this opinion, but it's just as I see it. Sorry..............
No, I'm still at their mercy for a replacement pipe ... no contact with them for almost 2 weeks now.
In the meantime, I've rejetted by bike because it was way too rich and I couldn't ride it. As Phil so insightfully pointed out to me in our discussion, I'm not put out in anyway, it's just my time, that's all. It never occured to him that there could be financial impacts if something breaks shortly after the Kawasaki or Big Gun warranty clocks run out ! (Phil made some bizarre comment about all it costs me is my time, "but that's Ok, because I'm here for you now ... I'm here to give you as much of my time as you want." [sm=WTFsgign.gif] I have no idea what that was supposed to mean, but I'm guessing he thought that was some kind of "customer service consolation prize"??? No thanks!).
Anyway, as of yesterday, my bike is running well, but with the OEM exhaust.
I have no reason to expect resolution anytime soon, and given how Big Gun has been handling things, I suspect that the weather will turn bad for riding before I get my replacement pipe. and by then it might be a few months more before I even get the pipe on my bike. (I guess I should consider myself lucky if the only thing I was missing was instructions and a supplied allen key ... looks like I'll be missing the warranty as well!)
In the meantime, who cares if our pipes stay shiner for ever ... foot pegs and a spring HAVE to be less aggravating than Big Gun's Customer Service!!!
Hang in there ... I am!!!

Dude, I really feel bad for you. While my problem is not that big a deal and solveable hopefully, Yours is a entire different animal. If I was in your shoes by now I would be really hostile with them. I would have contacted a lawer if for no other reason then to send them a Letter on Offical stationary threatening legal action if the issue wasnt resolved pronto. I would also file formal complaints with the better business bureau in thier Home towns against both Big Gun and Bike bandit. That should wake them up. Ultimetly though there isnt much you or I could do about our situations except try and correct it and move on.
People act like these are the norms with companies like Big Gun and Muzzy but they shouldnt be. To prove my point I would ask If big gun Or muzzy were a retail outlet like best buy and you spent 400 bucks for something that had a problem do you think they would give you or me such a hard time returning something. I doubt it, But since they are mail order they think they can get away with anything. As of 6 pm est I had not heard from big gun. It doesnt suprize me though and that was my one and only time in dealing with big gun. I'm 46 and there is a good chance I will need another bike exhaust someday, needless to say it wont be a Big Gun exhaust system. If a company cant take care of the customer when there is a problem then that company isnt worth dealing with. And that means Any Company. Good Luck and keep us informed....

You have backed me up and I have backed you up so let me see if I can answer some of your comments. Beside dude it's people like you and me that make these boards Interesting and Alive. Everybody goes to the Controversial Post First.

It's a big deal when it's a Brand New product and I shouldnt have to deal with it. Yes the screws should be in there tight But I actually started to bend my allen wrench before it finally slipped. I think even you would agree that's Too tight. When the 2 of them finally did break free it was a Loud Crack almost like a .22 going off.

Nope, not at all. I removed the Big gun sticker because I think it will look better without it. I have also removed all the stickers on the Klx except the shroud decals, the reflectors / stickers on my sporty and I will remove the reflectors from the Klx as well. Why, because IMHO it looks better.
As far as removing this and removing that goes with a new item well I like to tinker But the main reason was because the screen nor the vortex were installed. The red endcap has to be removed to install those Even though the documentation states there already installed.
They have to be torn apart sometime bro. If not to install the included items then to repack the dam thing.

I have no issues with what your saying, You and I are good. I never knocked the product, Only their Customer Service and the Bonehead who held his finger a little to long on the air ratchet. Yes I stripped the screw's so it's my issue and I will deal with it but it does go back to the bonehead who installed my screws and therefore Big Guns themselves.
As far as the 40 buck colored tail piece, it goes back to why I removed the sticker. The red cap doesnt Fit the bike. Someone had a Green cap and it looks good but To Me the green doesnt do it either. Nope, the black cap would look best on our bikes I think. maybe I wont buy one. Maybe I will paint mine but who knows.
Bottom line for me is I will probably buy the Real quite core and black end cap just to get it over with and then never buy a Big gun system again for Any Bike. Not because it's a bad product but because of it's customer service. As a Consumer thats all I can do.
Now let me ask you a question. I joined this forum right at the end of the muzzy/bg debate. I have watched you defend bg like I have never seen anyone before except when I was defending Harley's. Someone once cracked that you owned stock in Big Gun. It would make perfect sense if it was true. I'd like to know Why Bro, why you defend Big Gun the way you do. I'm sure others would like that answer as well. Honest Answer now.....

My stock heatshield on the stock exhaust was a bear to get off. They somehow managed to bugger up the last screw and the same thing happened as your deal. The difference being mine actually came off 3 turns before getting stuck. Bent allen key, rounded out screw head. Then I slotted it with a Dremel tool, mushed the head with a slotted screwdriver. Cut the head square and ripped it off with vise grips. I finally got the shield off and tried taking the bolt out. Even with some massive vise grips it was just tearing up the bolt and not even thinking about turning.
What does this have to do with your endcap? Not much but............isn't mass production just the greatest thing for quality control?[:@]
Anyway I stand behind you LV, there are factory included "accessories" that are intended to be installed by the end user. Thus your problem with the endcap should be covered under warranty, even though it was you that rounded the heads off. Does anyone know if BG uses threadlock on those endap bolts? If they do you could have hit the bolt with a small propane torch for a bit and that should have helped break it free, I've had to use a micro torch on the motor mount screws on my nitro RC's before, threadlock can be a bugger if applied too thick.

Mine came with the end cap on but the qyiet core and spacer in a bag the srews came out with no problem so far mine has been flawless I bought mine from Thumper talk and I bought another one a week later for another KLX and it was same thing no problem.
