Default So how long will this thing last me?

I am driving it everyday to work, the store etc and at this rate I will do maybe 7500 or so miles on it this year. How many miles can one of these go with regular maintenance?

Big bikes seem to go a long while but less so for the little ones. For sure some of this is the kind of use.

I would love to get 3 years out of it but that might be 20k miles. I will be looking for some longer wearing tires next time around for sure.

50,000 miles easy with regular (more than the manual calls for) oil changes, valves kept in spec.

Nice! how often do you change the oil? I have to look at the manual but doesn't it say like every 7500 miles? I was thinking if I changed replaced the oil every thousand and the filter every other I still would be less than a car I do at 3k.

It could last you forever. If something does break internally, it's not that hard to fix. This forum is an absolutely invaluable resource that can easily extend the life of your bike. Next time that I buy a bike I'm going to make sure that there is a good online community for the bike. Seriously almost better than having a warranty on the bike.

riding 55-mile daily commute in freeway...weekend "fun" rides...i was close to minimum oil line near 3,500 miles...i think 3,000 +/- mile oil changes should be what i'll stick to and filter changes every 6,000 +/- miles from what everything looks like...valve check/adjustment every 9,000 +/- miles after chatting with a kawasaki mechanic and what he recommended....

I have my Great-Great-Grandfather's axe. The handle has been replaced 9 times, and the head has been replaced twice....but, it's still his axe.

Forever is relative but it will be here long after I'm gone.
