Great information.........
I have the snorkel and all the upgrade parts (Q4, Jet kit, etc) waiting to install this winter when I'm not riding.
Nice to hear it's an improvement.......

just comfort improvement from having an open box with stock snorkel removed...didn't notice any decrease in power...i do daily high speed, high rpm freeway commutes on this bike...the vibrations underneath the seats were little annoying at constant speed....and, i have the same...q4, jet kit, etc...

To be clear, going from an open airbox to a lid with KDX snorkel makes things much quieter and smoother. Going from OEM to a KDX snorkel will make the intake noise slightly louder.

I just bought the KDX200 snorkel (part number 14073-1577) from PowerSports Plus for $30 with shipping. I'm hoping it will give me more power without increasing the sound level. I took my snorkel out but don't like the increase in noise.

I have a kdx snorkel in my stock parts bin, mine runs better without it but with the lid on.

My jetting is slightly fat but running with the lid off is little improvment over the lid on and snorkle removed so that is how I run it with the lid on.

Mine sounds sweet with the KDX snorkle and FMF Q4 exhaust.
Haven't been able to check out how she performs yet.

Tonight I put the stock snorkel back in until the KDX gets here. I did not like the way my bike ran without it. Obviously louder, but also horrible throttle response and more vibration. Granted I didn't make any carb adjustments which might have helped. Hopefully the KDX will be a happy middle ground.

I run the kdx snorkel and the stock snorkel. More flow without the noise. I run the kdx in the stock position and enlarged the existing hole to the rear. Cut the long nose off stock piece and shortened the bit that goes inside the box.
