Default Snorkel?

This may sound somewhat newbish to you guys, but i've never had a need to ask. What is a snorkel, where is it located? What are the pros and cons to removing it?

if you take the back side panels off, then take the seat off, you will see the airbox lid where the seat was and the snorkel is sticking out the airbox lid. i had been wondering the same thing for a long time til i finally starting removing things, lol. i removed pulled out the snorkel, then took out the two screws in on the underside of the exhaust pipe and it seemed to get a lil more power. i really have no idea what i'm doing, haha, but hear guys talking about it on here...that's about all i know about 'free mods'...hope that helped...

I just installed the KDX200 snorkel in mine today. Looking at the two snorkels (stock and KDX) side by side is interesting. The KDX snorkel's opening is so much bigger. Should let lots of air in. I ran mine with no snorkel for a while, but I just don't like things on my bike unfinished. It just bugged me that there was a gaping hole in the airbox lid and I knew something had to go there. Yeah, I know, I'm **** about that stuff

If you take the snorkle out or use the kdx one you should rejet for the added air coming in.

Take it out along with the lid it's attached to and throw it in the bin.

Jets are the small holes that allow fuel to flow through, mix with air and then on into the engine.
Different size jets have different size holes and allow a different amount of fuel through them.
They can be screwed out and replaced to compensate for things that would otherwise alter the air/fuel mix.
Go searching on here as there is soooooo much written on jets and jetting.
Then go searching elsewhere on the net.

Ron Ayers is a good source for Kawasaki parts. I got my carb parts from them.
