Default Smog stuff. My bike does not have what is in this picture?

Ok I was looking into the smog removal and my bike does not have the canister looking thing that is in this post https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ight=2009+tank

I have the little valve looking one from the first pic. but not the big round canister that is pictured with it? So does that mean my bike does not have it and no need to do the mod?? Mine is a 2010 250s Canadian model

that link did not ork for me.

but to answer your question I dont think anyone NEEDs to do them smog mod but it is nice to get rid of the extra hoses. I belive what you are saying you dont have is a cannister that is on the california model.

I would use the blockoff plate and get rid of some hoses if I were you.
cheers Jim

Sorry about the link, but ya I think the one I was looking at was a california model. Is the blockoff plate something I can buy? Also does this mod do anything performance wise or is it just for heat like I read about in another post?

You can buy one like this from Bill Blue http://bandbcyclerestorations.com/

Or you can just leave the stock cover on that spot and cap it with a vacuum plug after you remove all the smog crap. No performance gain from removing the smog stuff. Cleans up the engine.

+1 I also noticed a decrease in exhaust temp after the de-smog mod.

I took the stock plate off and ran a 5/16" tap down the nipple. Then I ran a screw in with some high temp silicone. You just have to plug it off. The Bill Blue plate is a good way to go. Really cleans it up.

I don't think Canadian 2009 models have any smog stuff.
