Im very happy - the bike is now snappy and I have to watch my speed.

I installed a muzzy slip on for the klx 300.

Cut out the backfire screen and installed a uni-filter pro comp filter and removed the air box lid.

Removed the de-ice circuit that comes on the AUS bikes and opened up the crank case breather.

I originally ordered a DJ klx300 kit but chickened out so had a local bike shop fit the jets, they were equally as confused as the biggest DJ jet was a 132 but they pulled a 132 out of mine (yes I know they are different sizes but they didn't), anyway they installed the klx300 needle on the 4th clip, 145 main jet and 40 pilot, fuel to 2.5 turns out - they also filled in the holes on the front of the slide (AUS only) and drilled out the vent.

This sucker goes!!! I cannot get the grin off my face. There doesn't appear to be any flat spots (I can now finally rev out to 9k easily) and doesn't stutter or anything.

Ill keep an eye out on and see how the fuel consumption goes but it will take a while for me to ride it economically - I'm having fun with my new found power.

A nice tone. How in the heck can someone keep a dirt bike that clean! wow. Congrats on a tuned ride that fits your expectations. It makes a huge enjoyment experience for sure.

Leave the house at 5 am and hit bush at about 06. No one around but the birds and roos. Cruise on the way home in top gear 4k rpm. Never had a problem. Then again I only ride country really and never hoon in the city.

 

Tip for you Paul. Remove the right hand mirror. Remove the left hand mirror and mirror mount. Put the left hand mirror mount on the right and refit the right hand mirror. Job done.

Broken master cylinder will cost $$$ to replace.

Fit some brake snakes too, $5 mod per side but worth a $1000 in the bush when you bend the selector/pedal.

Prevention is the best cure.

 

Thanks - The 09 doesnt have the seperate mirror mount. One side is through the clutch mount and the other is through the master cylinder. Might have to chase one down.

Which side do we legally have to keep on ?

Ill chase up the brake snake too - waiting on the replacement bash plate to arrive...have to make sure it arrives and is fitted before the weekend!

Do you know the ikea part that you used for your brake snakes?
