Well, if it was ribbid. Then I guess the kick was in self-defense. I've would probably gotten my .22 revolver and put it down, if it was truely ribbid.

I'd have done the same thing. Healthy animals don't act anything like that skunk - that thing had to be sick.

Signs of Rabies in Animals

It is not always possible to determine that an animal is infected with rabies by simple observation. Signs in an animal which should lead you to suspect that it may be rabid are:

* Nervousness
* Aggressiveness
* Excessive drooling and foaming at the mouth
* Abnormal behavior such as:
- wild animals losing their fear of human beings
- animals normally active at night being seen during the day.
Looks like that skunk exhibited every single one of those signs.

Whoever that was, I hope your dog is OK, man. Also, hopefully you didn't get any saliva or anything on you where you might have an open cut like a scratch or something. Rabies can kill you if not treated early. Once symptoms are showing, it's too late.
