If you have to park on curb (slope surface), sometimes it is not possible to park as it will fall. It seems I need to cut side-stand leg shorter.

I've found mine too short at times, rather than too long. I don't have any curbs to park on though.

 

Yeah, I think this is fairly normal with dirt type bikes that have a decent amount of travel. Spring sag and other factors always seem to make them more sensitive to finding a level spot.

 

It is much easier to add length to a leg than reduce it.

See attached picture how I add length to BMW F650GS, after suspension changed which need a longer side stand stick.

 

My bike is lowered 1.5", so the stand is a bit too long, but I've found this to be beneficial when parking on gravel - it always wants to dig down a bit anyway, so then the length ends up being perfect. On level pavement, it is quite stable, so I haven't done anything about the length...

When I installed a Dunlop 606 it made the stand almost too short. Tires can make all the difference in the world.
