Shifter adjustment
I have a question regarding adjusting the shifter. I want to adjust it up a notch to fit my boots so?? Do I just loosen the nut underneath or?? Sorry if it sounds dumb, just that I'm an expert at taking things apart, still working on reassembly.

RE: Shifter adjustment
To move the shifter up a notch you will need to take the bolt right out as it slots in a recess on the shaft then ease off the shifter and move it up or down 1 notch on the splines then simply put the bolt back and tighten enough so there is no slop on the shaft, and then go riding :D

RE: Shifter adjustment
Take a sharpie or something and mark the shaft and shifter so you know where you started from. Then as Simon sez (hehe) just loosen and remove the bolt...wiggle the shifter off and reinstall at your desired location. The bolt head is kinda cheesy so dont round it off.

RE: Shifter adjustment
Thanks guys, never owned anything new before and don't have a manual yet so I envisioned a spring flying out, hitting me in the eye and rolling far under my workbench (where it will be hoarded by the evil troll who collects screws, drill bits and other treasure).

RE: Shifter adjustment
Just be very careful not to round of the head of the bolt, it's made out of cheese

RE: Shifter adjustment
Got it done this morning, found it much easier to shift. Thanks for the heads up on the sharpie tip.
